Actor confirms return to 'The X-Files' as Walter Skinner

Walter Skinner will once again be getting all grumpy and bitchy with his two wayward kids in 'X-Files'.

Mitch Pileggi is returning to 'The X-Files'

Actor Mitch Pileggi took to Twitter to announce his return as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner in Fox's  'The X-Files'.

Pileggi made his debut appearance as in Episode 20 of the show.

The announcement was earlier made by Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group and Chris Carter.

Directed by Chris Carter, the show aslo has David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson taking up their roles as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

'The X-Files' originally premiered in September 1993 and remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.

The 16 Emmy and five Golden Globes award winning movie revolves around FBI special agents Scully and Mulder as they investigate unexplained cases.
