Leaked Sony email reveals studio's CEO doesn't believe in female superhero movies

The recently leaked Sony email reveals why there may not be a 'Black Widow' led superhero movie.

Recently surfaced leaked Sony emails has revealed that Marvel Entertainment CEO, Ike Perlmutter, thinks a female-led superhero film is not profitable.

Wikileaks recently published more than 30,000 documents, and an exchange between  Marvel CEO, Ike Perlmutter and Sony CEO Michael Lynton, came along with it.

1.– Very bad idea and the end result was very, very bad.

2. – Catwoman was one of the most important female character within the Batmanfranchise. This film was a disaster.

3. Supergirl was one of the most important female super hero in Superman franchise. This Movie came out in 1984 and did $14 million total domestic with opening weekend of $5.5 million. Again, another disaster.

Despite the above mail exchange, fans can expect a first of such film from Marvel, titled 'Captain Marvel' in 2018.
