Aside from her directorial debut, another attraction is an awesome array of acting award winners and pop culture icons - the kind we haven't seen in a while.
In recent times, movies such as "October 1," "76," "The Wedding Party" and "Three Wise Men" have featured an assemble of talented veterans. The casting in these movies undeniably played a huge role in their box office success.
While Nigerians are gradually accepting movies that feature strange faces, a higher percentage will always be drawn to a poster or trailer which assembles some of their favourite talented and respected veterans.
Genevieve Nnaji, an actress who has an undeniable star power, made her debut as a producer in 2015 with the movie "Road to Yesterday."
The movie raked in 30 million naira at the box office. It is safe to say that the movie was that successful because of the name 'Genevieve Nnaji.'
Also, the movie was her come-back after about four years and her fans couldn't wait to get reacquainted with her acting skills.
However, considering Nnaji's influence in the pop culture, one would have expected more. But then, there wasn't an aggressive marketing for "Road to Yesterday." Just a little more push and the movie would have been twice as successful.
For her upcoming movie "Lion Heart," Nnaji already has a lot working in her favour.
She is making her directorial debut - you don't even have to be a fan to stroll into the cinema to see what she has created as a first-timer.
She is aslo sharing quite a lot on social media - an official Instagram account for the movie has been sharing sneak peeks, like this one of Onwenu solemnly holding hands with Nnaji, looking every part of an on-screen mother and daughter pair.
Most importantly, she has assembled such a beautiful cast that makes it difficult not to anticipate.
Nnaji has done an amazing job in assembling such vivid performers, who are popular for pulling their audience into their projects with their delivery skills.
It kicked off with the announcement that Steve Eboh, Pete Edochie and Kalu Ikeagwu would star in the movie "Lion Heart."
Over time, new cast members including Kanayo O Kanayo, Onyeka Onwenu and Nkem Owoh were revealed.
The movie also stars Jemima Osunde, Yakubu Mohammed and Sani Muazu.
This is a very exciting cast, and seeing Kanayo O Kanayo, Onyeka Onwenu, Nkem Owoh, Pete Edochie and Steve Eboh in one movie is exciting enough.
The upcoming movie which is written by C.J Fiery Obasi based on a screenplay by Ishaya Bako and Emil Garuba, follows the story of an Igbo family that is into transport business.
"LionHeart" is Nnaji's second movie from her production company, The Entertainment Network (TEN), whichwas founded by Nnaji in partnership with Chinny Onwugbenu.
