The Federal Government recently cancelled plans to build a film village in Kano after a group of Islamic clerics said it would create a hub for immorality.

The Federal Government had planned releasing 1billion Naira for the kick off of the 20-hectare film village which some Islamic clerics led by Sheik Abdallah Usman Gadan Kanya, opposed.
According to the clerics, the project is a plot to undermine Muslims and their religion by creating a hub for immorality.
