On December 15, 2016, the Afolayans alongside other veterans commemorated the life, legacy and works of the late filmmaker, Adeyemi Afolayan AKA Ade Love.

The 20th remembrance ceremony of the filmmaker which held on December 15, 2016, at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, hosted distinguished guests, actors and industry practitioners including Afolabi Adesanya, Chioma Ude, Bolanle Austen-Peters, Dele Odule, Jide Kosoko, Yemi Sodimu, Mahmood Ali-Balogun, Gbenga Adeyenki among others.

A documentary on the life and times of the legendary Ade Love was screened at the event. The documentary which revealed a meticulous, hardworking and talented filmmaker featured some of his contemporaries including Moses Olaiya, Lere Paimo, Jimoh Aliu, Olu Omojola, Eddie Ugboma, Adebayo Faleti, Jide Kosoko, Adebayo Salami and Tunde Kelani.

Also, during the remembrance ceremony, "October 1" filmmaker and Ade Love's son, Kunle Afolayan, revealed that the family is setting up a foundation, The Ade Love Foundation, which is aimed at restoring classic Nigerian films.

He also announced that he is working towards directing a quality Yoruba series. He also pleaded with the veterans to avoid segregation in Nollywood and encourage unity in the Nigerian film industry.

Celebrating his works, his movie "Kadara" (Destiny) which was first released in 1980 officially premiered at the event.

Still in celebration of the life and legacy of the late filmmaker, Ade Love Film Week which kicked off with the Thursday eventwill feature screenings of "Kadara" and "Taxi Driver" throughout the festive season at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.

The movies will also screen at the Lagos Airport Hotel Off Awolowo Way, Ikeja,  Silverbird Cinemas, Film House cinemas, Genesis Deluxe, Kada, Viva and other cinemas across the nation.

Adeyemi Afolayan was popularly known as Ade Love. A Nigerian film actor, director and producer, he was the brother of actress Toyin Afolayan.

He was also the father of filmmakers Kunle Afolayan, Gabriel Afolayan, Moji Afolayan and Aremu Afolayan.

Ade Love was also popular for the 1976 "Ajani Ogun."
