Today, September 29, 2016, is the actress' birthday, and we have numerous reasons to crush on her.

1. We have her to thank for the talented Bimbo Akintola .

Akintola is a gift to the Nigerian film industry, an actress who defines true talent, and Nollywood has Joke Silva to thank for this gift.

In an how Joke Silva has influenced her acting career.

"Joke SIlva. She has done a lot, but it's not even about the things that she did, it's about the things she didn't realize that she did,"  said the actress.

According to her, Silva changed her father's impression of actors, after he watched her perform on stage.

2. She is beautiful and is ageing gracefully .

Joke Silva is without doubt beautiful. She has been a part of the Nigerian film industry for as long as we can remember. Despite the hard work of the years, she is still as flawless as they come.

We do not see the effect of her great work on her facial lines, we see them in her works.

3. She values training .

Silva and her husband Olu Jacobs founded the Lufodo Group which include film production and distribution assets and the Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts.

In an , the veteran spoke on why they set up the performing academy.

"Unfortunately for us, for most of those who have been working in the industry and  who have no training whatsoever, because the media is there hyping them, they don't realize that they don't have the skill, yet they are not willing to come back to learn. And that is really sad," she said.

4. She is a talented award winning actress.

A multiple award winner, Silva won the  "Best Actress in a Leading Role" at the second Africa Movie Academy Awards for her role in "Women's Cot."

She starred in the movie "30 Days," which received 10 nominations at the 2008 AMAA. Her other classic movies include "Cursed from Beyond," "Phone Swap," "The Amazing Grace," "Tango With Me," "Married but Living Single," "Violated" among others.

5. She has never failed on stage.

From the "Mad King of Ijudiya" and "A Little Drops," to "Hear Word," Joke Silva has been a part of stage productions worth lauding over and over.

7. She is married to the entertaining veteran, Olu Jacobs. And they have a beautiful family together.

The talented couple who are both in the film industry, met in 1981 at the National Theatre, Lagos during the 21st Independence anniversary.

In 1998, the veteran had a major role starred opposite Colin Firth and Nia Long in the British-Canadian film "The Secret Laughter of Women,"  in which she portrayed the character of Nene.
