Reports say Bruce Lee's brother, Robert Lee gave producers of 'Ip Man 3' the authorization to make use of the legendary artiste cum actor's intellectual property without the consent of the Bruce Lee Estate.
According to a report by THR, Bruce Lee's brother, Robert Lee, has given the Pegasus Motion Pictures the authorization to use intellectual property rights of Bruce Lee in the upcoming flick, Ip Man 3.
It was further reported that the producers have the cooperation of Robert Lee, who is working as a consultant for the film.
While Pegasus asserted that Robert Lee owns the intellectual property rights of Bruce Lee, the Bruce Lee Enterprise contended that "Robert Lee does not own or control any intellectual property rights associated with Bruce Lee, including, without limitation, any rights to Bruce Lee’s name, likeness and image. Robert Lee does not represent BLE, nor is he authorized to represent any intellectual property rights in connection with Bruce Lee in any way."
Ip Man 3 producer and Pegasus chairman Raymond Wong told THR that the matter is now handled by lawyers, with an announcement to be made soon.
