Following Anthony Horowitz' apology for calling Idris Elba too 'Street' and 'Rough' for a 007 role, Elba has responded in the most perfect way ever.
Idris Elba has responded to Anthony Horowitz controversial comment which described him as 'too street' and 'rough' for a James Bond role.
Elba took to his Instagram page to share the above photo with the perfect caption;
"Always Keep Smiling!! It takes no energy and never hurts! Learned that from the Street!!#septemberstillloveyou."
Horowitz came under attack after he said Elba was too 'street' for the 007 role, stating Adrian Lester as his preferred 007.
Following the attacks, the author apologised, describing the word 'street' and 'rough' as "a poor choice of word."
Elba has long been fans favourite black choice to play James Bond, and also succeed Daniel Craig who is currently filming the forthcoming Bond film 'Spectre,' which hits theatres November 26, 2015.
In 2014, a hacked Sony email revealed the company thought Elba “should be the next Bond”.
Elba responded via Twitter, asking "Isn't 007 supposed to be handsome? “glad you think I’ve got a shot!”
