Actor isn't interested in winning an Oscar

43-year old British actor, Idris Elba,  is getting Oscar buzz for his role as the Commandant in the recently released "Beasts of No Nation," written and directed by Cary Fukunaga.

In an interview with Huffington Post, the actor revealed that he doesn't really care about an Oscar, stating that an award doesn't define him or the movie.

"If I’m honest, at the risk of sounding ‘Uhhh, he don’t really care,’ I actually don’t. We don’t start off making films at all with the idea we might get an award. It’s great that it might be celebrated, but it doesn’t actually define me or the film. It’s great that Oscars may be happening for us, but I haven’t really sort of planned for it. Maybe it comes, maybe it doesn’t," he said.

Streaming service, Netflix, released undefineddirected by Fukunaga on October 16, 2015.

'Beasts of No Nation ,' which tells the story of young boy in a West African country, also stars Ghanaian actress undefined Ama K. Abebrese alongside Grace Nortey, David Dontoh and Opeyemi Fagbohungbe.

When civil war tears his family apart and militants kill his father, he is forced to join a unit of mercenary fighters."

The American war drama film is based on the 2005 novel of the same name by Uzodinma Iweala.
