Caitlyn Jenner's reality series renewed for 2nd season

Despite its lukewarm 1st season ratings, E! has announced that the Caitlyn Jenner reality series would return for a second season.

Caitlyn Jenner's  reality television show has been renewed for a second series, E! confirmed.

According to E!, the reality series which focuses on the 65-year-old, sharing her own personal journey as a transgender, will return in 2016.

"Caitlyn's story has ignited a global conversation on the transgender community on a scale that has never been seen before.

"We are honoured Caitlyn has chosen to continue to share her ongoing story with our viewers around the world," the channel announced.

Following the confirmation, Jenner took to Twitter to express her excitement.

'I Am Cait' was officially announced during herundefined, which marked the onetime Olympian's public acknowledgment of her decision to transition to a woman.

The interview which had viewers tune in to watch the former Olympian address his gender transition, drew 16.9 million viewers and a 5.2 rating among adults 18-49.

With ratings not as high as expected, '  averaged a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 2.73 million viewers overall for its debut.
