January has presented us with great movies like "The Revenant," "Beyond Blood," "Ride Along," among others.

It's almost February, and there are already great movies worth anticipating. From the controversial "Gods of Egypt" to the romantic comedy "Suru L'ere," Pulse Nigeria have put together 11 movies no movie lover would want to miss.

Here are the trailers, release dates and plot details for 11 movies you definitely don't want to miss in theatres this February.

1. Deadpool

The film is directed by Tim Miller and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Andre Tricoteux, and Leslie Uggams.

Synopsis

In an effort to cure his cancer, former special forces operative Wade Wilson was subjected to an experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, disfigured skin, an unstable mind and a "dark, twisted" sense of humor. Armed with new abilities and a new identity, Wilson hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

"Deadpool" is scheduled for a release on February 12, 2016.

2. Diary of a Lagos Girl

Who doesn’t love a romantic comedy? Directed by Jumoke Olatunde and produced by Nike Erinle, the upcoming film stars Dolapo Oni, OC Ukeje, Alexx Ekubo, Liz Benson, Linda Ejiofor, Paul Adams and Adunni Ade.

Synopsis

"Diary of a Lagos Girl " follows Bim (Dolapo Oni),a materialistic, single Lagos girl in search of Mr Right. Her ideal guy must drive a Range Rover, live in a gated community, possess a cutting edge fashion sense, come from an influential family, handsome, funny, be born again, wealthy among other things.

“Diary of a Lagos Girl” premieres on February 5.

3. Suru L’ere

It’s a Mildred Okwo film, so, yes! That’s enough reason for you to get excited. Then again, who isn’t interested in watching a movie which focuses on how hard it is to make a decent living in our country?

The film set in Lagos follows the life of a young, timid graduateArinze (played by Seun Ajayi) desperate to beat his financial burdens. In his journey, he meets a charming go getterOmosigho (played by Beverly Naya). Their meeting shoots off a series of events that pressure Arinze into a get rich quick scheme.

The film features several of Nigeria’s new school actors including Kemi 'Lala' AkindojuAMVCA winner Tope Tedela,Enyinna Nwigwe and Gregory Ojefua. It also features cameo appearances from the movie producer Rita DominicLinda Ejiofor, Kenneth Okolie and Bikiya Graham Douglas.

The film premieres on February 12.

4. How to be Single

The drama stars  Dakota Johnson, Alison Brie, Rebel Wilson, Leslie Mann, Damon Wayans, Jr., Jason Mantzoukas, Anders Holm, Nicholas Braun and Jake Lacey.

Plot.

New York City is full of lonely hearts seeking the right match, and what Alice, Robin, Lucy, Meg, Tom and David all have in common is the need to learn how to be single in a world filled with ever-evolving definitions of love.

"How to be Single" is scheduled for a February 12, 2016 release.

5. Couple of Days

A romantic comedy, the movie tells the story of three couples on a romantic getaway, and how they handle the realities of marriage and 'happily ever after.'

Starring Enyinna Nwigwe, Lilian Esoro, Adesua Etomi, Okey Uzoeshi, Kiki Omeili, Ademola Adedoyin, the movie also guest stars Nigerian rapper, Falz The Bad Guy, and is set for a February 5 release.

6. Gods of Egypt

Directed by Alex Proyas, the upcoming film stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Gerard Butler, Elodie Yung, Chadwick Boseman, Courtney Eaton, and Geoffrey Rush.

Synopsis

The Egyptian god of darkness Set takes over the throne of the Egyptian empire. A mortal hero, Bek, allies with the Egyptian god Horus in a mission to save the world and to rescue his love

Set for a February 26, 2015 release, the movie has received backlash for the predominantly white cast.

7. Zoolander

Directed by Ben Stiller and written by Justin Theroux and Stiller, the upcoming action comedy stars Stiller, Owen Wilson, Penélope Cruz, Christine Taylor, Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell.

Scheduled to be released on February 12, 2016, the movie will feature special appearances by Billy Zane, Fred Armisen,Justin Bieber, Kyle Mooney, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, and more.

8. Race.

'Race' is an upcoming French-German-British-Canadian produced biographical sports-drama film directed by Stephen Hopkins, which focuses on James Cleveland "Jesse" Owens, an American track and field athlete, who won four gold medals at the Nazi-run 1936 Berlin Summer Olympics.

'Race' stars  William Hurt, Jeremy Irons, Jason Sudeikis, Carice van Houten and Stephan James as Owens.

'Race' is set to open in theaters on February 19, 2016.

9. Tripple 9

The American crime-thriller heist film stars an ensemble cast featuring Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus, Woody Harrelson, Kate Winslet, Clifton Collins, Jr., Michael K. Williams, Teresa Palmer and Gal Gadot.

Plot

The film follows a group of criminals and corrupt cops who find themselves in serious trouble. The Russian mafia is blackmailing them, and the only way to deal with them is to perform what is believed to be an extremely challenging heist. Impossible as it may seem, however, they eventually hatch a plan: on one side of town, half of the crew will plan the murder of a rookie cop named Chris Allen ), and while the rest of the force is distracted by a 999 call ("officer down"), the other half of the corrupt cops will pull off the job.

The film will be released on February 26, 2016.

10. Risen

'Risen' stars Joseph Fiennes, Tom Felton, Peter Firth andCliff Curtis and hits theatres on February 19, 2016.

About 'Risen'

'Risen' follows the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer.

 Clavius, a powerful Roman Military Tribune, and his aide Lucius, are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.

11. The Choice

Synopsis.

'The Choice'   tells the story of Travis Parker (Walker) and Gabby Holland (Palmer), who meet first as neighbors in a small coastal town and end up pursuing a relationship that neither could have foreseen.

Spanning a decade and tracing the evolution of a love affair that is ultimately tested by life’s most defining events, this story features a memorable ensemble of friends and family in Sparks’ beloved North Carolina setting, culminating in the question that every couple must ask themselves: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?

Based on a book of same name by Nicholas Spark, the film Teresa Palmer, Benjamin Walker, Maggie Grace, Alexandra Daddario, Tom Welling and Tom Wilkinson.

'The Choice' will arrive cinemas on February 5, 2016.
