Max von Sydow joins Season 6 of the series

A lot of chatter has been made over Sydow's addition to the hit series. The veteran actor is known for his role in “The Exorcist” and the upcoming Star Wars movie, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

Max von Sydow is set to join season 6 of “Game Of Thrones”. The Swedish-French actor will play the role of the Three-Eyed Raven on the HBO series.

The Three-Eyed Raven is the magic teacher of the youngest child of Ned and Catelyn Stark, Bran Stark. He was first introduced to viewers in Season 4 but was played by another actor.

The news of Sydow joining the cast of the Emmy nominated series comes following information that Ian McShane was also joining the show. The producers are still yet to reveal what character McShane will be playing.

According to Entertainment Weekly who first broke news of the veteran’s role in the hit series, they shared  that, despite having important parts to play, both new characters will not be receiving a lot of screen time.
