Few weeks after the US supreme court legalised same sex marriage, Fox TV Network is working on a film which tells the story of the much talked about ruling.

Following the June 26 ruling of the US supreme court which legalised same sex marriage in the country, Fox is planning a movie based on the case that led to the ruling.

The TV Network has acquired the rights to tell the stories of Jim Obergefell and his attorney Al Gerhardstein, which led to the Supreme Court ruling.

The studio also acquired the rights to an upcoming book, '21 Years to Midnight: The Promise that Brought Marriage Equality to America,'  being written by Debbie Cenziper, a journalist at The Washington Post.

Obergefell began his legal battle following the death of his late husband John Arthur, who died of ALS.

Following his bereavement, the state of Ohio refused to list Obergefell as Arthur's surviving spouse on Arthur's death certificates.

Obergefell took his case to court, where it eventually found its way to the Supreme Court, and lead to the much talked about  ruling. with Justice Anthony Kennedy describing marriage is a "profound" constitutional right for all.

The upcoming movie will be produced by Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen.
