EFCC: RMD Embezzles N50M, On The Run

News emanating from Delta state has it that veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on accounts of a N50 million embezzlement investigation.

RMD serving as the Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, is alleged to have connived with the Acting General Manager of the state’s tourism board, Ms. Philo Nkem Ajufo to misappropriate funds released last year for an earlier event that did not hold (Delta Expo 2007).

Already Ms. Ajufo is already in EFCC custody, where she is being held for her role in the financial scheme. An EFCC source confirmed her arrest. “As we talk, the Delta State Tourism GM, one Mrs. Nkem Ajufo, is being held in our headquarters here in Abuja over her involvement in the N50 million fraud. Her boss, Mr. Richard Mofe Damijo, is not left out but as we speak he is still avoiding us,” said the source.

All calls and sms to RMD’s personal telephone line have gone unanswered as his mobile phone is switched off.
