DC: Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Keanu Reeves and more are voice stars in DC's 'League of Super-Pets'

In the first teaser for DC League of Super-Pets, Dwayne Johnson is going from leading man to loyal sidekick in the animated hero centered film it voice stars Dwayne Johnson as Krypto, the pet and sidekick of Superman and other notable actors, including Kevin Hart(The Secret Life of Pets series), Kate McKinnon(Saturday Night Live), John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer(Saturday Night Live), Natasha Lyonne(Orange Is the New Black), Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Thomas Middleditch, Ben Schwartz(Sonic the Hedgehog) and Keanu Reeves(John Wick, The Matrix series)

When Superman and the Justice League vanishes, Krypto enlists the help of a pack of shelter animals to save the day —PB the pot bellied pig, Ace the hound, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel.

Jared Stern penned the script for DC League of Super-Pets and co-directing Sam Levine for Warner Bros. and Warner Animation Group. Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions is also behind the project, with Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia producing. John Requa, Glenn Ficarra and Nicholas Stoller are executive producing.

In a recent discussion with EW, the director-screenwriter explained he got the inspiration for this movie after volunteering with his wife at a rescue shelter. There he met a herd of unadopted pets. "They seemed so powerless," he recalled. "I don't know why, but I thought, 'What if those pets had powers?. From there, Stern, who previously co-wrote The Lego Batman Movie, came up with a story and pitched it to Warner Bros and DC.
