To mark the 2015 Sickle Cell Day, Tunde Kelani's award winning movie 'Dazzling Mirage' will screen for free.
To mark the 2015 World Sickle Cell Day, the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria alongside other organisations, have selected Tunde Kelani's 'Dazzling Mirage' to screen for free.
The award winning film by Tunde is aimed at raising awareness about the sickle cell condition and to help people make better informed decisions.
“There is no better way to educate people than through story telling,” Kelani says.
Written by Ade Solanke, 'Dazzling Mirage' is an adaptation of Yinka Egbokhare's novel of the same title.
The inspiring movie is centred around a young advertising executive (Funmiwo) living with sickle cell disorder.
She overcomes social stigma, prejudice and her own low self-esteem to achieve career success, marriage and motherhood.
'Dazzling Mirage' stars Lala Akindoju, Kunle Afolayan, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Seun Akindele, Taiwo Ajai Lycett, Bimbo Manuel, Carol King, Khabirat Kafidipe, Bukola Awoyemi among others.
The movie will be screened at the Silverbird Cinemas, VI, on on June 25; the National Sickle Cell Centre, Idi Araba, June 28 and Silverbird Cinemas, Abuja, on July 28.
Dazzling Mirage won the 'Audience Choice award' at the 2015 edition of Nollywood Week Film Festival in Paris, France.
