Iconic ex-footballer considering James Bond role

According to Daily Star, the 40-year-old former Manchester United star thinks he can be a good James Bond.

Former England captain and football legend David Beckham, 40 is reportedly considering throwing his hat in the ring for the role of James Bond.

According to Daily Star, the 40-year-old former Manchester United star thinks he can be a good James Bond, and thinks he can get it when Daniel Craig's contract expires soon. He is also being encouraged by his fans to contest for the role of Hollywood's most famous spy.

David Beckham has tried his hands on film recently. He featured in a special episode of last Christmas and has recently booked a speaking role in a movie directed by his friend Guy Ritchie . The former Real Madrid star featured in short film for the British leather company Belstaff. The short film also stars Harvey Keitel.

The Guy Ritchie movie is and David Beckham has 13 lines in the movie where he plays a grotesque knight with blackened teeth.

"I’m good friends with Guy and trust him. He wouldn’t put me in a film if he thought I was going to ruin it. I had 13 lines and I practised a huge amount beforehand. Guy had someone come and rehearse with me and I did an hour of it every day" said David Beckham.

The father of four admitted he was nervous when filming started eight weeks ago. "It was nerve-racking delivering the lines but I enjoyed it massively. Sport gets my heart beating faster. Acting is the same."
