11 years after hosting the Oscars for the 1st time, it has been confirmed that comedian Chris Rock will host the 88th Oscars.

The comedian who hosted the awards for the 1st time in 2005, will work alongside Regina Hedlin, the event's new co-producer, who also directed the pilot of his series, 'Everybody Hates Chris.'

Chris took to his Twitter account to confirm the news.

The 87th Oscars which was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, took a 16% decline in the ratings.

Past hosts that have hosted the ceremony twice are Ellen DeGeneres (2007, 2014) and Jon Stewart (2006, 2008).

The 2016 Oscars is scheduled to hold at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on February 28, 2016.
