According to The Wrap, Marvel studio is considering Ava DuVernay for an upcoming superhero film.

The report states that the studio wants DuVernay to direct either 'Black Panther' or 'Captain Marvel,' both scheduled for a 2018 release. She would be the first black woman to direct a major superhero movie.

In February, this was what DuVernay had to say about directing a Marvel film.  "I'm not a big comic book fan, but I know I love to deconstruct heroes, deconstruct myths. I probably want to do some origin story." - she said to HitFix

If it works out, She would be the first black woman to direct a major superhero movie.
