An Icon & A Diva! Omotola Makes Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World 2013 List

Of all the 100 people who made the cut in the renowned Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World list for 2013, Nigeria sits proudly with a lone name that inspires belief in all who look for an icon. She is Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, the actress, singer, reality-show star, mother of four and philanthropist (the Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme).

Popularly referred to as Time 100, the list is divided into various categories - Titans, Pioneers, Leaders, Icons and Artists. Omotola was recognized in the Icon category.

Popularly called Omosexy by adoring fans, the 34-year old has been a regular in the world’s most productive English-language film industry, Nollywood.

With a grace that borders on the ethereal, and a benign image that mandates belief, she is a diva for eternity, a queen in her right and the peerless epitome of all things beautiful. Featuring in excess of over 300 movies, she is married to an airline pilot who gave her a wedding of remarkable brilliance on a flight from Lagos to Benin.

But in all of this, humility and endearing modesty are her chief traits, and that is what has made her a darling for all time.
