Njoki C. Muhoho has been named as the new head judge for the 2016 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs).

The announcement was made at Sarova Stanley Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, during a discussion by representatives from M-Net West and East Africa with filmmakers and members of the press in preparation for the awards.
Muhoho is a scriptwriter and producer. She is the executive producer for “Maisha”, an East African talk show. She was the creator and executive producer for AMVCA winning TV series “Mama Duka”. She produced 8 episodes of TV series "Culture Connect" for Ebony Life TV in 2013.
Her work is not just limited to films and TV series; she has produced documentaries and written radio plays.
Muhoho career in film began as a hobby. Her journey in the industry took off after she won the Kenya National winner of MNET’s New Directions Scriptwriting Competition in 1999.
Following her achievement, the writer took a year off her job at Price Waterhouse to study Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, at Universal Studios, Hollywood.
The film scripter is currently a board Member for the Kenya Film Commission.
Calls for entires for the 4th edition of the AMVCA have been made.
