Nigerian singer and actor Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has won his first movie award.

The actor won the 2016 AMVCA best actor in a comedy for his role as Segun in Funke Akindele's TV series "Jenifa."

Falz beat IK Ogbonna, Kelechi Udegbe, Ime Bishop Umoh, Bowoto Jephthah to win the award.

The actor plays the role of a hairdresser Segun, who works in the same salon with Jenifa. Along the line, they fell in love and had an affair.

Falz made his acting debut in the movie 'A Couple of Days,' which stars him alongside Adesua Etomi, Lilian Esoro, Kiki Omeili, Enyinna Nwigwe among others.

We had predicted that Ime Bishop Umoh would win, but Falz should win.
