The head of 2014 Africa Movie Academy Award jury, Steve Ayorinde, would not be joining the jurors of the academy award for the 2015 edition of the awards ceremony.

And this is because the film critic and media executive has been earmarked to join the cabinet of the Lagos State elect, Akinwunmi Ambode.

According to sources, Ayorinde, who has headed the panel of jurors for many years and had been a member of the juror since inception, would be joining the egg heads that would be assisting Ambode continue from where outgoing governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola stopped.

Sources further disclosed that Ayorinde has held the position of the media aide and spokesman of the governor elect during the campaign and electioneering process.

Interestingly, this is coming several months after the CEO of the awards ceremony, Peace Anyiam Osigwe, relinquished her position to her partner and friend of many years.

Ayorinde would for a long time be remembered for his battle with former boss, Azubike Ishiekwene, while he was with the Punch Newspapers, after which he joined the Jimoh Ibrahim owned media house, The Mirror as the Executive Director of the media before he resigned.
