Kehinde Bankole won the best actress award at the 2016 African Film Awards also known as AfroHollywood Awards.

Kehinde Bankole has won an award for her role in the 2016 movie, "Beyond Blood."

The actress won the best actress award at the 2016 African Film Awards also known as AfroHollywood Awards, which held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 29, The Broadway Stratford, London E15 4BQ.

The actress took to her Instagram page to express her gratitude and appreciate the director and producer of the star-studded movie.

"Guys! And BEYOND BLOOD did it, we won!! Thank you! Best Director African Film & Best Actress African Film at the for the movie Beyond blood. Kudos and congratulations to everyone of the production team and our directorwho made this hard work possible. Special thanks to the Director Mr Odutayo and Producer also Mrs Debbie Odutayo, Thank you the R2 camp, God bless you all!," she wrote.

Beyond Blood” is a story of discovery. An uninflected series of scenes or moments that take us on a journey of how a womanand our central character, Moji rediscovers herself. Moji is faced with a series of situations far beyond her control.

Rather than confront the situation, she decides to “run” away in the hope that in her search for her brother, she will rediscover him and herself and have the time to think through her life and make those life changing decisions that will put her on the path of confrontation of the society in which she finds herself.

The movie starred the actress alongside Shan George, Okey Uzoeshi, Joseph Benjamin, Bimbo Manuel, Francis Onwochei, Marion, Wole Ojo, Uzor Ozimkpa, Ifeanyi Kalu, Bott, Carol King and Deyemi Okanlawon.

Bankole is popular for her role in movies including "8 Bars and a Clef," "Dinner," "October 1" among others.
