AfricaMagic Viewers Choice Award Winners: Appiah And Ukeje Get top Honours

Fun and glamour, glitter and honours it was at the AfricaMagic Viewers Choice Award held last night at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos.

OC Ukeje and Jackie Appiah ruled the roost as they took home the best actor awards. Otelo Burning finally lived up to its street credibility with the best movie award. Olu Jacobs got the thumbs up from the industry merit category, a fitting recognition of his illustrious contribution to the modern Nollywood. Widely tipped  as shoo-ins for best actress award. Genevieve Nnaji will surely be left wondering what would have been.  Akindele-Oloyede surprisingly lost to Mercy Johnson in the ‘Best Actress – Comedy (Movies/TV). The ‘Best director’ award however went to Anita van Hemert and Chantel Carter  for the South African 2011 Drama movie ‘Otelo Burning‘.
