The filmmaker passed away while receiving treatment at a hospital in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

An award winning filmmaker, she won the Best Indigenous Film Producer at 2009 edition of Zulu African Film Academy Awards also known as ZAFAA, in London.

The late Ibitola was also the founder and a trustee of The Independent Film and Video Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria.

She was also the Chairperson Coalition of Associations of Film and Video Distributors in Nigeria and Festival Director, Festival of Indigenous African Language Films.

The late Ibitola co-produced Yoruba movies that include "Afonja," "Owo Eje," "Ofin Ga," and "Ojo Ola." 

A graduate of Theatre Arts from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Ibitola worked at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.

She was married to filmmaker and Remdel Chairman, Remi Ibitola.
