7 actresses that were missing in action at the AMVCA

Here are seven actresses that were noticeably absent at the AMVCA.

Two things come to mind when celebrities failed to turn up at one of the biggest awards ceremonies of the year; it is either they had a busy calendar which involves work or business and secondly, they aren't happy with the organisers of the award.

We aren't saying these are the reasons for their absence but here are seven of your favourite female celebrities who didn't show up at the AMVCA.

1. Omoni Oboli

Omoni Oboli has always been one of those celebrities who take their time to plan and come out to slay on the red carpet at the AMVCA. Well this year, she was a no-show which was really noticed by the paparazzi who always have a filled time taking cute photos of the mother of three.

If you are a huge fan of Omoni, you'd notice that she has been away from the country with her best buddies vacationing and having the time of their lives. Omoni's reason for her absence might be because she wanted to take a time out from the glam and just chill or maybe there is more to it than meets the eye.

2. Mercy Aigbe

Mercy Aigbe might be one of the most talked about celebrities in Nigeria but you can't take it away from her when it comes to looking stunning on the red carpet. We all know how over the years, Mercy Aigbe has slayed on the red carpets of the AMVCA. Lovers of the actress were disappointed that she didn't show up for the awards.

She, however, apologised to her teaming fans on her Instagram page after the awards that she couldn't make it because she was busy and exhausted after a shooting on set. Understanding right?

3. Ufuoma Mcdermott

Ufuoma Mcdermott has had a busy year career-wise and we've seen a few movies which she has starred in. Not attending the AMVCA didn't come as a surprise to many because she isn't one of those celebrities who make such events a big deal.

If you are wondering where Ufuoma was and has been all this while, she is away from the country with her girls; Uche Jumbo, Omoni Oboli, and Chioma Akpotha having a nice holiday after a busy first half of the year.

4. Uche Jumbo

Since becoming one of the biggest names in Nollywood, Uche Jumbo has taken her acting and directorial prowess to the length and breadth of the world. Ok so you know, Uche Jumbo was absent at the AMVCA just like her best buddies.

Maybe this was a conspiracy or mere coincidence as to the timing of these Nollywood goddesses. We can't say but from the photos they have been posting on social media, they indeed are having a blast.

5. Chioma Akpotha

Chioma Akpotha was another big absentee at the AMVCA and, we kind of figured out why she wasn't present. Just like her fellow besties, Chioma is far away from Africa enjoying a quiet time and we don't think she missed anything from the event.

6. Genevieve Nnaji

Genevieve Nnaji has always been a no-show at the AMVCAs and it didn't come as a surprise when she didn't show up this time. It would be nice to see Genevieve Nnaji shock fans and critics by attending of these awards.

Well maybe not anytime soon, but imagine how exceptionally beautiful and glamorous she would look showing up at the red carpets. It would be a fun filled day for the paparazzi as no one would be able to take their cameras off her.

7. Adunni Ade

Over the last few AMVCAs, Adunni Ade has always been one of those actors who show up looking like an angel. Let's not even talk about her beauty but the amazing outfits she always shows up at the awards with. We can't forget in a hurry how she showed up at the last AMVCA with her two sons all looking adorable.

Well this year, Adunni Ade was a no-show as she was far away abroad maybe having a chill time. From the photos and videos posted on her Instagram page, she was having a nice time. However, she took out time to congratulate Odunlade Adekola for his award at the AMVCA
