10 romantic movies you should watch this Valentine's Day weekend

While some will spend Valentine's Day weekend exchanging gifts, others will choose to stay indoors watching their favourite Bollywood, Hollywood and Nollywood shows.

While some will spend the upcoming day exchanging gifts, chocolates and all, others will stay indoors watching their favourite movies, web series or TV series all day.

Pulse Movies has put together 15 movies (Bollywood, Hollywood and Nollywood) which Nigerians can see on Valentine's Day.

While some of these movies have happy ending, some others have that kind of ending that would leave you inspired,lovestruck but in tears.

1. "Dil Dhadakne Do"

A romantic comedy, "Dil Dhadakne Do" will leave you grinning with its entertaining plot and cast.

The film features an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah,  Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar and Rahul Bose.

The film tells the story of a dysfunctional family who invite their family and friends along on a cruise trip to celebrate the parents' 30th wedding anniversary. Following the gathering, new feelings are discovered, and old love recovered.

2. "The Fault in Our Stars"

It's never too late to find true love, even on your death bed.

Without doubt one of the most emotional movies ever, "The Fault in our Stars" is based on the novel by John Green.

It's okay to decide to spend your Valentine's Day weekend watching Hazel and Augustus fall in love with each other after meeting at a cancer support group.

Despite it's sad ending, the brave story is also one that allows love to happen despite the deterring circumstances.

3. "La La Land"

If you have the patience to watch all the music that comes with "La La Land," then the Oscar buzz movie is perfect for your Valentine's Day weekend.

Despite its 'disappointing' end, the movie which follows a musician Sebastian, and an aspiring actress Mia, who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles, is your ideal romantic musical.

Apart from Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, the movie also stars John LegendJ.K. SimmonsRosemarie DeWitt and Finn Wittrock.

4. "Fifty Shades Darker"

The steamy date night and elevator scene between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele makes it the perfect erotic romance movie for the weekend.

A sequel to "Fifty Shades of Grey," "Fifty Shades Darker" makes its debut on February 10, 2017, just in time for Valentine.

5. "This is It"

It's exuberant and entertaining enough for you to choose to feast on it on Valentine's weekend.

"This is It"  follows the first year journey of the young clueless newlyweds Dede and Tomide, how they adjust living together, dealing with friends and a little drama.

The chemistry between Dede and Tomide will make binge-watching the Dolapo Adeleke's web series on YouTube worth it.

6.  "Me Before You"

Based on the 2012 novel of same name by Jojo Moyes, "Me Before You" will bring out several emotions from you, including sadness, but it is that romantic movie that you just can't go through some important festive days without seeing.

The emotional film features Clarke as Louisa Clark, a small-town girl who gets a job caring for a paralyzed banker named William Traynor. She forms an unlikely bond with the recently-paralyzed Traynor.

7. "Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge"

"Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge" is a 2011 Bollywood Romantic comedy film starring  Saqib Saleem and Saba Azad in lead roles.

It tells the story of two incompatible collegians, who impersonate their friends with fake social network ids, then find love as they work together for their institute's annual celebrations.

8. "Flower Girl"

The movie tells the story of Kemi (Damilola Adegbite) who is dying to get married to Umar (Chris Attoh), a young man desperate to get ahead in his career.

When their relationship hits troubled waters, Kemi seeks the help of movie superstar Tunde (Blossom Chukwujekwu) and they hatch a plan to get Kemi what she wants.

9. "Keeping Faith"

The absence of "Keeping Faith" would definitely mean an incomplete list.

A classic Nigerian romance drama film that should never be forgotten, the movie  starred Genevieve Nnaji as Nadine, a young woman who discovers her boyfriend  Simi (Fred Amata) was married.

The movie focuses on her relationship with RMD as Princewell Sampa.

10. "Pretty Woman"

There are movies that stick years after you saw them for the first time and "Pretty Woman" is one of such.

The classic tells the story of a man in a legal but hurtful business who needs an escort for some social events, and hires a beautiful prostitute he meets. And then he falls in love.

It's a movie that could make you cry, but in a good way. However, it will sure make you smile, grin and have a perfect Valentine's Day weekend.
