3. "Stranger Things"

The second season is smooth-running, driven by some of the most likable young actors on the screen.

4. "EL Chapo"

It could be mistaken as the new "Narcos," but the story and acting are delivered with a unique intensity that makes it different and really enjoyable.

5. "The Handmaid's Tale"

Hulu's adaptation of Margaret Atwood's dystopia is written in a terrifying way that seems relatable to the world's current climate.

6. "Insecure"

This series about the modern-day black woman is different, realistic, insightful, raunchy, and hilarious

It helps with the near-to home good feel people long for in movies or shows; not alien realities or seven kingdoms and a Night king.

7. "Blackish"

A sitcom about a middle-class black family, "Blackish" is aimed at openly discussing racist stereotypes.

It is interesting how the show handle serious topics in a light-hearted manner.

8. "The Young Pope"

"The Young Pope" isn't what it seems: It is pleasantly weird, funny and compelling. And contrary to what many might think, it doesn't ridicule the Vatican.

9. "Godless"

This authentic, rich and entertaining series puts to shame every concept that feminism MUST be limited to only female sexuality, and what or who not women are allowed to have sex with.

10. "Narcos"

Even without Pablo Escobar, the third season of "Narcos" is gripping.  With some remarkable performances and well constructed action sequences, "Narcos" is one of 2017's best TV shows.
