"I Was Bullied & Called Ugly When I Was Younger" - Beverley Naya

Beverley Naya is no doubt a delight to behold but the actress reveals this hasn't always been the case as she was called ugly in her younger days

Nollywood actress, Beverley Naya is unarguably one of the hottest new generation Nollywood actresses around. Since her debut in the movie "Home in Exile" back in 2008, there's been no slowing down for the British-born actress.

However, it hasn't always been a glamorous world for Beverley. The actress has revealed that she was bullied as a child and had even felt like an ugly duckling! Beverley revealed this while she was a guest at Inspiration 92.3 FM.

According to her "I still find it a bit strange when people call me attractive and sexy because I was bullied for my looks when I was younger". She further revealed that the very things that get her positive attention like her skin colour now are the very things she got bullied for.

The "Weekend Getaway" actress further revealed that this was the experience which led her to embark on the "Fifty Shades of Black" campaign which among other things is channeled at encouraging black women to love themselves and be confident irrespective of their skin tone.
