Toke Makinwa's ex-husband loses dad

Toke Makinwa's ex-husband Maje Ayida has lost his father, Allison Ayida.

Allison Ayida died at the age of 88.

He died on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Saint Nicholas Hospital in Lagos state. He grew to the top of the civil service and was famed as a super permanent secretary.

Born on 16th June of 1930, Ayida attended Kings College, Lagos, Oxford University, United Kingdom, and entered the civil service after graduation. He served in several positions in the civil service and reached the peak of his career as permanent secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economic Development where he helped to reshape Nigeria’s post-civil war economy before and after the civil war.

Maje Ayida and Toke Makinwa got married back on January 15, 2014, in a very private ceremony which was attended by close friends and family.

It was so private that Toke was the one who announced the marriage to the public on her Instagram page with pictures from the private ceremony.

However, the marriage crashed about a year after following cheating allegations.

A year later, the marriage started to unfold publicly. On Sunday, June 14, 2015, blogger, Stella Dimokokorkus reported that Ayida had impregnated his girlfriend, Anita Solomon, a relationship that had been going on for over eight years. This, however, came as a rude shock to everyone as fans waited for Toke's response which she eventually did by saying she was blessed to be able to do what does for a living. She ignored the cheating rumors though.

Toke Makinwa files for divorce

March 2016, Toke Makinwa after all the messy infidelity scandal surrounding the escapades between her husband, Maje Ayida and his longtime girlfriend, Anita Solomon which even resulted in a pregnancy filed for a divorce, claiming she couldn't go on with the relationship.

The marriage is dissolved

On Thursday, October 5, 2017, an Igbosere High Court in Lagos dissolved the union between Toke Makinwa and Maje Ayida, citing Maje's adulterous lifestyle as the major reason for the dissolution of the marriage.
