Canadian singer releases 2 new tracks, splits with Bella Hadid

While loved ones were getting together for the Christmas celebrations, some were falling apart. Such is the tale of Canadian Singer-Songwriter, The Weeknd, and his nineteen year-old model girlfriend, Bella Hadid.

After being together for nearly a year, the couple called it quits around the holiday period and spent the celebrations separately as Bella was seen in a photo posted on Instagram by her mother, snuggling on Christmas Day with her mother, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster, and siblings, sister Gigi and brother Anwar Hadid.

The couple, who began publicly dating after a concert in the spring of 2015, decided to take a break because their busy schedules were affecting their relationship. According to a source that spoke to E News, “They are still in each other's lives though, just not in the same exclusive capacity."

Can’t feel my face crooner, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, didn’t seem particularly bummed out by the split as he was seen flirting with girls backstage at a concert in Miami. A concert which Bella had notably not attended.

If at all the break is getting to him, the 25 year old singer doesn’t seem to let up as over the Christmas weekend, he plunged into work, releasing two new tracks.

The singer joined artistes like Green Day and ex-Disney star Miley Cyrus to release the new tracks during Christmas. However, the Weeknd’s new tracks are hardly Christmas songs like Miley’s Sad Christmas Song or Green Day’s Xmas Time of Year.

The songs feature elements fans have come to love from The Weeknd. One of the songs is a collaboration with rapper Future and titled, Low Life, while the other is a remix of Jeremih’s Pass Dat and titled the same.

The singer announced his new tracks with a tweet that read, “something is coming”, before tweeting the soundcloud links to the tracks, adding a “Merry Xmas” for his fans.

It will most definitely be a merry Christmas celebration for The Weeknd fans this weekend as they have the singer’s two new songs to keep them company all weekend long.
