Afrobeat act dedicates back tattoo to late father, Fela

The father of one, and son of the iconic Afrobeat creator Fela Kuti inked the words 'FELA LIVES' honouring his late father.

 

Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti who will be performing at the Terre de Blues festival in May has revealed the huge tattoo on his back.

The father of one, and son of the iconic Afrobeat creator Fela Kuti inked the words 'FELA LIVES' honouring his late father.

Seun Kuti posted the picture of his sweat drenched back showing off the tattoo on April 15, 2015. "How can u kill an idea? As Fela said in underground system, ' if them kill Sankara Nko? Dem no go fit kill him spirit o" wrote Seun below the picture.

During live performances, Seun Kuti opens his act with a cover of one of his father's numerous hits as a way of honouring the man popularly known as Abami Eda.
