Russell Brand slammed the Queen for having a 'fake last name'. Plus urged Britons to NOT give her so much respect!
The controversial star even posted a quote from his book 'Revolution' about the Queen's last name.
''I mean, in England we have a Queen for fuck’s sake. A Queen! We have to call her things like 'Your Majesty' YOUR MAJESTY! Like she’s all majestic, like an eagle or a mountain. She’s just a person. A little old lady in a shiny hat – that we paid for,'' Russell wrote.
He continued: '''Your Highness'! What the fuck is that?! What, she’s high up, above us, at the top of a class pyramid on a shelf of money with her own face on it. We should be calling her Mrs Windsor. In fact that’s not even her real name, they changed it in the war to distract us from the inconvenient fact that they were as German as the enemy that teenage boys were being encouraged, conscripted actually, to die fighting. Her actual name is Mrs Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
''Mrs Saxe-Coburg-Gotha!! No wonder they fucking changed it. It’s the most German thing I’ve ever heard – she might’ve well as been called Mrs Bratwurst-Kraut-Nazi - from REVOLUTION''
Fans immediately slammed the actor/comedian calling him an hypocrite who once expressed excitement in meeting The Queen.
Flo Rook ''Firstly, it Saxe-Coburg & Gotha. It was Prince Albert's surname when he married Queen Victoria but George V changed it in the First World War to Windsor as they are from the house of Windsor. It's actually nothing to do with the Queen!! What's the point of ranting on Facebook following a tabloid publishing a photo of the Queen as a child?! You've done enough in your past that is beyond acceptable and explainable, while you were an accountable adult. Stop talking rubbish and getting your facts wrong. You're making a fool of yourself!''
Ross Archibald ''Yet, you were beside yourself with excitement to meet her.''
Donna Broadhead ''Dear oh dear. I'm a little tired of this racist attitude towards Germans. Hitler's Nazi regime was terrible, no question, but even in 1940 it was wrong to generalise an entire nation. It's like saying all Brits are Tory; simply not true.''
Sheila Dahlgren ''So..tell you what... I dare you to say all this to her face the next time you bow and shake her hand with that plum puddin grin you had all over your face.''
And so on..
