Social media is monotonous these days and that’s because everyone wants to be a relationship expert or adviser including our celebrities.

It has just become boring. Everyone is a know-it-all. I can bet you that if you check your Instagram and Twitter timelines now you will stumble on relationship tips and rules.

Everyone rather anyone suddenly knows about the complexities of love and life. It’s kind of ironic that with all this knowledge breakups and separations are at an all time high. I guess the tips only go so far in real life.

No one has the infinite knowledge when it comes to love and relationships yet celebrities have joined the bandwagon of experts with easy tips and tricks in making a relationship work. Only if it was that easy.

After Tiwa Savage gave her explosive interview on the crash of her marriage, several celebrities took to their Instagram accounts to dish out advice from their wells of wisdom.

A celebrity like Freeze baffles me with his relationship advice. If he knows so much about the damn thing why didn’t he advice Tee Billz and Tiwa Savage before things got out of hand? Even after the interview why didn’t he call to advice the couple and leave it there? To me giving marriage advice on social media is playing to the gallery.

The truth is that most of these celebs do it for publicity sake. They want their names mentioned along a hot story. Many of them crave publicity and when something like a public breakup is trending they jump on it.

Now I am not saying a celebrity cannot be a relationship adviser. If he or she has the calling for it then it’s cool. I like Charly Boy’s relationship advice. This is a man that has been married for decades and has had more than the fair share of ups and downs. I would listen to him easily over celebs who want Instagram followers and bore us with theoretical tips.

Celebs should be celebs especially in Nigeria. A lot of celebrities who should be thinking of how to move their careers forward are either ranting at trolls or giving advice that most people do not want. Stick to the script guys- focus on your career and leave the tips to psychologists.
