Tonto Dikeh, a fame queen that we created

Her razz, devil may care, bad girl next door persona is actually a front for a woman who is calculative and cunning.

Love her or hate her, Tonto Dikeh is a smart woman.

Her razz, devil may care, bad girl next door persona is actually a front for a woman who is calculative and cunning. In a world that derives pleasure from trolling the famous, Tonto Dikeh has turned the tables and trolled us. She has always had the ace up her sleeve, using the jokers when its crystal clear she can't lose.

Tonto Dikeh has always given us what we crave for- a peek into the world of the rich and famous, a candid look at their lives delicately protected in a glass house. But instead of allowing stones thrown at her to shatter her glass universe, she has used the online negative energy to get what she wants, fame and now a happy ending.

'Poko Lee' was already known as Nollywood's bad girl way before it was reported that she was dating a young Wizkid whose star was fast on the rise. It was a Nigerian celebrity affair made directly from the pages of TMZ. With Tonto Dikeh's name associated with the new music sensation out of Nigeria, she made her debut in Nigeria's pop culture. Soon enough she went from being the bad girl of Nollywood to the bad girl of Nigeria's celebrity scene.

An affair with Iyanya (true or not) further placed her in pop history as the third member of the Nigeria-Ghana threesome that had the sex and leggy Yvonne Nelson as the other wheel. With her bad spellings, and Twitter rants Tonto Dikeh was the alpha female of bad chicks in the entertainment scene.

Smart enough to know that fame from acting would last her only fifteen minutes she diversified her hustle, and moved into music. While Omotola and Genevieve have steered clear from music for obvious reasons, Tonto Dikeh dived into it head first knowingly fully well she did not have the talent for it. But she didn't want the talent, she wanted the fame, and she got it. No Nigerian song (even Vic-O can testify to this) has been bashed more than her dreadful single 'Hi'. The negative feedback would have made lesser women and men run out of the country, but Tonto Dikeh bathed in the insults until Nigerians unwillingly accepted the music side of her.

Now she is signed to DB Records. It might not be the best record label in the world, but many Nigerian artistes would beg to be on Banga Lee's record label. You see Tonto Dikeh is a natural born headline grabber. I suspect she knew all along that she was never really good at anything but grabbing attention no matter how negative. She has honed that skill to perfection. Tonto Dikeh is not really that good of an actress but she is a star.

In her climb to the top she has given we celebrity obsessed generation what we want- crap to talk about. In return we have given us what she had craved for many years ago- fame, and lots of it. She is now known for controversial stories than her movies.

In a crazy twist that only someone as sly and cunning like Tonto Dikeh could come up with, the bad girl of Nollywood shocked us all by getting married, getting pregnant and having an Introduction ceremony without any prior information. Is this part of her master plan? Yes. I think along the line, Tonto Dikeh got tired of the bad girl and just wanted to end it all on a 'happily ever after' note.

Now that she has her man, the perfect ending will be for Tonto Dikeh to ride into the sunset with what she has gotten from us. It wouldn't make sense if she comes back after 9 months, and is still ratchet and crazy. This is the end of her master plan for fame. In order to remain relevant, she needs a new story, a better one. She has gotten what she wanted all along. It's time for her to take a bow.

Nice one Tonto, we made you famous for actually doing nothing.
