Nigerian pop singer Burna Boy, 24, had the last laugh concerning the pregnancy back and forth between him and the woman named Uju Stella.

Burna Boy who is currently in England maintained his innocence throughout as Uju Stella accused him of being the father of her unborn child.

The drama started in May, 2016 when Uju Stella slammed the artiste for not owning up to his responsibility on her Instagram page. When it escalated and blogs got hold of the story Burna Boy mockingly claimed that he was not the father of her baby because he only had sex with her once.

He shared a video on Instagram, singing an untitled song with the lyrics "fu**ked that girl once and now she’s claiming that she’s pregnant." Now because of Burna Boy's bad boy reputation the general consensus was that Burna Boy was the father of the baby and he was running away from his responsibilities.

Burna Boy's mum (Mrs. Ogulu) who doubles as her son's manager waded into the matter and told Punch newspaper that her son is not paying attention to the allegations, and would rather spend his energy on furthering his music career. "My son has never said anything concerning the issue, he has never said a word, maybe there was a song at the background of the video that he posted online but he has never said a word concerning the issue.  What you know is what we know basically and my take on it is that we would rather just focus on his music which primarily affects his life than that" she told the daily newspaper.

Uju Stella not wanting to be ignored and dragged Burna Boy's mother on Instagram. She also played up the attention she was getting from the press by posting photos of her baby bump and typing sympathetic messages on her Instagram page. Unfortunately, we the media played up the story. We ran with it and made Uju Stella a sort of Instagram celebrity overnight. Not many felt it necessary to get the true details of the story. Even if a lot of media outlets had reached out to Uju Stella it would have been unlikely that she would have said something. Pulse reached out to her for an interview but she failed to reply.

With this scenario the narrative was that Burna Boy was about to be the latest member of the baby daddy gang. This belief was however eroded when Uju Stella started posting photos of herself with a baby bump in sight. Overnight, she was no longer pregnant. Abortion maybe? Who knows. For those who claim to know Uju Stella they claim she is a woman of shaky reputation. Her new photos proved their claims to be true.

Burna Boy had his pound flesh when he blasted Nigerian bloggers. On Friday, June 24, 2016, Burna Boy said the bloggers who reported the story of his alleged baby mama played themselves by not confirming if the story was true.

For once Burna Boy was innocent of the claims, which is a rarity. Anyway, the media should know that there are a lot of fame hungry individuals out there who want to be popular at all cost. Just because someone has a bad name doesn't mean he is guilty of what he has been accused of.
