Readers believe female stars compromise motherhood for career

78.6% of Nigerian readers say that the reason why most female stars, especially in Hollywood, do not have kids is because they put their careers first.

According to our poll, Nigerian readers agree that most Hollywood female stars do compromise motherhood for their careers. They say most of them prefer their jobs more than being a mother.

In the article Hollywood actress Gabrielle Union, 42, opened up about not being able to have a child yet with husband Dwayne Wade. She told Redbook magazine that being too busy makes you forget about your personal life.

"A lot of my friends deal with this. There’s a certain amount of shame that is placed on women who have perhaps chosen a career over starting a family younger. The penance for being a career woman is barrenness. You feel like you’re wearing a scarlet letter," Union told the mag.
