Sound Sultan is a legend of legends and a veteran of veterans.

With a career over a decade, Sound Sultan’s career is still strong after he has witnessed numerous styles and trends.

Today is his 39th birthday and to honour his achievements in the Nigerian music industry, we have listed five things you might not know about the legend.

1) He allowed a then unknown Psquare to open his performance at a Lagos concert. This kind act was historic because it was Psquare’s first show in Lagos.

2) 2face said Sound Sultan is his best friend. The two have been close for years, and are seen together at numerous public functions and engagements.

3) Sound Sultan is a comedian. Those close to him say he is a very humorous man and could easily be a stand-up comedian.

4) Sound Sultan’s wife was originally a Christian but converted to Islam when she married the Naija Ninja singer.

5) Sound Sultan has a stake in one of Nigeria’s biggest basketball teams Lagos Islanders.
