Did Prince know he was going to die in the month of April? Well, there are some who think he did.

According to some social media users, the late singer may have predicted his own death in a song he composed back in 1986 - Sometimes it snows in April.

As we reported, the music icon was found dead by the medics in his estate in Minnesota on April 21. Sources claim he was discovered unresponsive in the elevator around 9:45am (4:45pm Nigerian time) and died nearly 30 minutes later.

Now, social media are connecting the lyrics to his hit song - 'Sometimes it snows in April' - 30 years ago to the details of his death. Fans at his last concert post his brief hospital stay for flu also claim he told the crowd, "wait few days before you waste any prayers."

"Sometimes life ain't always the way / Sometimes it snows in April/ Sometimes I feel so bad, so bad / Sometimes I wish life was never ending / and all good things, they say, never last,"  the poignant lyrics of the six-minute song, which is the last track on Prince's Parade album read.

Twitter users immediately suggested the star knew he was going to pass away in the spring month.

Others used the lyrics of the song to express their devastation at news of the singer's death.

Others turned to a different song to look for clues that the star knew he was going to die.

They claimed that he also makes reference to his death in 'Let's go crazy', which includes the line: "And if the elevator tries to break you down, go crazy, punch a higher floor."

The icon's tragic death comes after news broke that he was treated for an overdose just six days before he was found dead.
