Joan Rivers' Daughter Says She's "Resting Comfortably"

Joan Rivers' daughter, Melissa Rivers, has released an update about her mom's condition and she says, the E! Fashion Police host is said to be in stable yet still critical condition, according to E! Online.

After arriving in New York City with her 13-year-old son to be by her mom's side on Thursday, Aug. 28, Melissa told reportersat the Mount Sinai Hospital via rep Sid Dinsay: "I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother," the statement read. "She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers."As we reported earlier on Thursday, comic legend Joan Rivers, 81, was hospitalized in critical condition after she experienced complications during throat surgery at a New York City clinic. According to TMZ, the Fashion Police host stopped breathing during the procedure and had to be rushed to Mount Sinai.

Around midday, E! News correspondent Ken Bakertweeted that she was "in stable condition" and hours later, a source said that she had been placed in a medically induced coma.

One day before her health scare, Rivers reportedly performed at Laurie Beechman Theatre and dined at Amaranth Restaurant. "She seemed absolutely fine," another source revealed of the comedienne. "She was cracking jokes all night. She was in really good spirits."
