Rapper breaks down while talking about ex in new interview

Nicki Minaj became very emotional while she speaking about her breakup with ex-boyfriend, Safaree Samuels, whom she dated for 12 years.

American rapper, Nicki Minaj, still can’t get over the split from her former long-time boyfriend, Safaree Samuels.

In a recent interview with radio personality, Angie Martinez, on New York radio, Power 105.1, the Queens rapper broke down while speaking about the split and how she was dealing with it.

When asked how she was dealing with being single again, the Young Money rapper said; “You know what's funny, I've never been single for the 15 years of my life;  Idon't even know if I'm single now either which is weird too.“

Nicki Minaj and Safaree Samuels separated in late October over alleged infidelity on his part. In the interview with Angie Martinez, Nicki had nothing but sweet word for ex. “This is not someone I picked off the street; this is someone I grew up with. I don't even know how I'm going to function without this person. I've never lived my life as a famous person without this person so I don't really know how to function. Anything I say about him is with love because right now I call my girlfriends, ask them stuffs but sometimes I just want to call him and ask him of his opinions,” Nicki said before getting emotional which led to her host Angie Martinez handing her a tissue to wipe her teary eyes.

Nicki Minaj however shut down any chances of getting back together with her ex, insisting that she is happier now. “I think I’m beyond that point because I have found so much peace now and I don’t want to go back to how I was feeling, but I don’t know what life holds, I don’t know what the future will bring. What will be will be, but I am a lot happier because being attached to someone is unhealthy,” Nicki Minaj said.

She also denied being in a relationship with rapper Meek Mill, which has made the rounds in the news recently. “Meek is just my friend,” Nicki said.
