Embattled actor Nicholas Brendon has been caught on camera trying to slash his own wrists perhaps in an attempt to kill himself.

The troubled former 'Buffy The Vampire' star recently confessed to fans on social media that he has tried to take his own life on multiple occasions as fears mount over his state of mind. He also announced he is checking into rehab on Monday, October 26.

It comes after he was arrested at the end of in September for allegedly choking his girlfriend during a fight.

In a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, October 17, the 44-year-old actor said:

"Hey guys. I can't tell you how much your support and kind comments mean to me.

"I love you all so much and if I can help just one person by sharing my struggles and how I'm battling them than its all completely worth it.

"It's been bad for me the last three years and I've had failed attempts at suicide. I really just want to live and love and be filled with Joy."

Nicholas made the admission after posting that he was going to go into rehab for a 90 day treatment program.
