Songstress dies at age 65

The Grammy-winning singer is reported to have suffered several health issues during her lifetime as she had been diagnosed with Hepatitis C, and had required a kidney transplant in 2009.

Natalie Maria Cole dies at 65

American singer, songwriter, and performer, Natalie Maria Cole, has reportedly died at age 65.

Natalie, is reportedly survived by a son, Robert Adam Yancy.

In October 2015, the mother-of-one is reported to have canceled a series of concerts between November and December.

A statement which had been released at the time by the San Francisco Symphony, the concert hall she had been scheduled to perform at, revealed “a medical procedure which precipitated a lengthy hospital stay”  as the reason for the cancellations.

The daughter of musician, Nat King Cole, rose to fame in the ‘70s although her career started to slip in the early ‘80s due to her struggles with drug addiction.

Natalie began her comeback in 1987 with her album, Everlasting, which included the Grammy Award winning hits “Pink Cadillac,” “Jump Start (My Heart)” and some others.

After news of her death broke, American civil rights activists, Rev. Al Sharpton tweeted a photo of the singer as a young girl singing with the piano.
