Mike Epps came under fire after he posted a "racist photo" online. Now he says people took his post out of context and couldn't find the joke in what he meant.
The comedian posted a photo depicting three white men picking cotton while a black man whips them with a switch while Martin Luther King Jr. watched from the sky smiling.
The actor captioned the photo: 'I am so proud of you bro! Lol.'
His post caused a roar on social media with fans slamming him for promoting 'racism'.
But in a phone call with TMZ, Saturday January 24, Epps said the whole situation is a misunderstanding and it all started with an email from his nephews.
He said, 'I was just cracking a joke. I’m a comedian man. I thought it was funny….I didn’t mean no harm. If I offended anybody, I apologize.'
Looks like celebrities need to watch everything they put out on social media
