Singer sued by former employee

A former employee of Mariah Carey has filed a lawsuit against the singer for not compensating her for overtime.

Mariah Carey is been battled by one of her former employees, Ylser Oliver, who claims she’s being owed by the singer.

According to Page Six, 49-year-old Ylser Oliver has issued a lawsuit against the singer claiming she was forced to work up to 16-hours-a-day, seven days a week without proper meal breaks or any extra money in her pay packet as compensation.

Ylser is now suing for the singer for not paying her for overtime.

According to legal papers filed at Manhattan federal court and obtained by Page Six,  Ylser is claiming that she started working as an assistant for Mariah in March 2007 and her duties included tidying up her Tribeca home in New York and organising repairs to the property, packing her luggage for trips, tending to her "personal needs," travelling with the R&B star on her business trips, taking her calls, carrying out shopping tasks for her and "caring" for Mariah's friends and family.

Ylser however quit in June 2014 after becoming dissatisfied with the long working hours and lack of overtime.

Ylser’s lawyer, Matthew Blit, in an interview said that his client put her family’s life on hold while tending to Mariah Carey’s family without receiving any compensation from the singer.

Ylser is suing Mariah for a significant (undisclosed) amount of money

Mariah Carey is yet to respond to the lawsuit.
