Pete Edochie, forever in our hearts

With an acting career spanning over 35 years, Pete Edochie's name has forever been engraved in the hearts of Nigerians.

He is more popular for his role in the Nigerian Television Authority's (NTA) adaptation of Chinua Achebe's all time best selling novel, "Things Fall Apart", where he played the role of Okonkwo.

An indigene of Anambra State, Nigeria, Edochie was born on March 7, 1947 in Enugu, Nigeria.

He worked with the Nigerian Railway Cooperation then left to study a course in Journalism and Television in the School of Journalism and television in England.

Loved by all in Nollywood and often looked up to as a father figure, Edochie joined the Eastern Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation in 1967 and in 1980, was trained formally in the British Broadcasting Corporation as a broadcaster.

He is married with children among who are Yul Edochie and Linc Edochie both Nollywood actors.
