Today’s Man Crush Monday is the godfather of Nigerian comedy Ali Baba.

Ali Baba’s whose real name is Atunyota Alleluya Akporobomerere is the pioneer of the stand-up comedy business in Nigeria.

The 50 year old comedian comes from the royal family of Agbarha Otor in Warri, Delta state.

In 1990 he moved to Lagos where he found his funny side which halted his plans to go and get a degree in Law after his first degree.

He started performing at corporate events and TV shows as well. Prior to him doing comedy full time there was no full time comedian in Nigeria. He created his company Alibaba Hicuppuray 3, and branded himself to corporate Nigeria by putting his face on billboards in Lagos.

In a short while Ali Baba became the number one comedian in Nigeria, and the preferred MC for most societal weddings.

Two decades after Ali Baba is still on top of the game. He is about to launch his TV show ‘Ali Baba in XX’.
