NBA legend to replace Donald Trump as 'Celebrity Apprentice' host

Sources connected with the show reveal that the plan is to find "a successful minority businessperson who's active in the inner cities." Magic certainly fits that bill.

Magic Johnson has been approached by the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) to replace disgraced Donald Trump as host the 'Celebrity Apprentice'.

Accoriding to TMZ, sources connected with the show reveal that the plan is to find "a successful minority businessperson who's active in the inner cities." Magic certainly fits that bill.

Although there's been no negotiation between NBC and Johnson, but he's high on the network's wish list. Magic seems to be a gold standard for what NBC is looking for. But there's no word on whether he'd be interested.

Another huge star on the list is George Lopez, He doesn't have Magic's business background, but he's hugely successful and could be a solid host. He also fills NBC's desire of getting a Latino to replace Trump.

However, the site reports that Lopez says he hasn't been contacted, but also, all the discussions so far have been internal.

On July 1, we reported that Mexican mogul, Carlos Slim turned down the offer to replace Trump as the next host of 'The Apprentice'.

Slim, who sits on a telecommunications empire worth $80 billions, was approached by the show's organizers to become the perfect replacement for the US Presidential hopeful. But he said no, due to his really busy schedule.
