Actress plans movie adaptation of her new novel

Nollywood actress, producer and author, Lilian Amah Aluko has confirmed plans to adapt her new novel to cinema.

Following cue from the global trend of adapting novels into film, Actress, producer and author, Lilian Amah Aluko, declared her new ambitions to journalists recently.

Lilian, who is also eyeing the presidency of the Association of Movie Producers (AMP), plans to ensure we see more movie adaptations if she's made President. Having just concluded training at the University of California and Hollywood, her first experiment will be her own May 2015, Dreams of Yesterday.

The book tells the story of a Captain who finds and loses love after losing his memory during the Nigeria/Biafra civil war.

She said:

“Charity they say begins at home.

As my final pitch for my training, I pitched my book. And I’m very proud to say that the panel, who were there, very high profile writers and producers in Hollywood, were very impressed. They were so impressed that the Dean, Barbara Boyle, asked for a copy of the book. So that is in the works.

Once I have done my own adaptation, I’m going to encourage my colleagues; ‘When looking for stories, looking inward. The African Writers Series alone, if people go into that, buy the rights and then get scriptwriters to screenplay it. Stories are there. So, we don’t have to keep recycling old stories."
